Ilot Gabriel is a gem thrown on the open sea

extending over an area a little more than 

42 hectares. It is situated about 

20 kilometers from the north coastof the island.

Built on Flat Island’s highest point is a historical white lighthouse which is still a beacon for fishermen and other seafarers entering Mauritian waters from the north. In the distance, the highly distinctive shapes and colours of Round Island and Snakes Island beckon. The northern isles are precious remnants of Mauritius’ former natural state and important refuges for the country’s rare and endangered species – many of which are found nowhere else in the world.

 

Gabriel Island possesses a different visage, wild and savage still in a sort of primitive state. The air, the fresh breeze and the utter silence refreshes the mind, tonifies the senses, gives new energy to all the limbs.

On its way the boat will pass by a first island, the Gunner's Coin, huge whale-like mountain in the sea. Straw-tails bird, which is the symbol of the Mauritian aviation, had chosen its cliff as their nesting place.

 

After approximately one and a half hour of easy cruising you will discover the magic of  Gabriel Island, Mauritius very own island getaway and a Government-declared Nature Reserve featuring a pristine white sandy beach, crystal clear waters, a beautiful coral garden, a rich birdlife, spectacular coastal scenery, and a casual atmosphere.

 

Sometimes during this excursion you will be able to see whales as well as dolphins.

There is an open bar with unlimited drinks offered during the whole day, and a delicious BBQ lunch served on board at 12.30. The lagoon around Ilot Gabriel harbours a very rich marine life which makes snorkeling an amazing experience. Itinerary:

08h30	Arrive at the jetty of Sunset Boulevard, Grand Bay for registration
08h50	Boarding and pre-departure briefing by your Captain
09h00	Guided cruise to the Northern Isles – Sail past the high sea cliffs of Gunner’s Quoin and Flat Island’s lighthouse
10h30	Arrive at Gabriel Island where you will be briefed on all activities at your disposal. After which you will be dropped on the island where you can swim in the beautiful crystal clear water
12h30	Lunch: BBQ Buffet on board our catamaran. After lunch you will be provided snorkeling equipments where you will discover the natural reserve in the lagoon between Flat Island and Ilot Gabriel.
14h30	Boarding - sail to Grand Bay
